Frequently asked questions

Is Embercraft really free?

Yes, Embercraft is entirely free. You can play the whole game without paying. Premium options (Gold) exist only for comfort and cosmetics, never to lock access to the game.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Embercraft is played directly in your browser, with no installation, on computer and smartphone alike. You just need to create an account.

How do I start playing?

Create a free account, found your starting village, then let yourself be guided: gather resources, construct your first buildings and raise your first army.

What genre is the game?

Embercraft is a real-time multiplayer medieval strategy game, in the vein of management and conquest games like OGame or Travian, set in a medieval world.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes. The interface is fully adapted to phone and tablet screens: you can play anywhere from your mobile browser.

How does combat work?

You recruit troops and build defenses. During an attack, forces clash in waves: the winner loots resources, the defender protects their spoils and rebuilds part of their losses. You can spy on a target before attacking.

What is a guild?

A guild brings together several players who cooperate: shared bank, messaging and a collective ranking. It is strongly recommended to progress and defend yourself.

Is my personal data protected?

Yes. Embercraft complies with the GDPR: minimal data, European hosting, no reselling. You can read the details on the Legal notice & Privacy page, and delete your account at any time.

Can you play Embercraft on mobile?

Yes. The game runs in your phone or tablet's browser with no app to install: the same game continues across PC, mobile and tablet, with an interface designed for both formats.

How much time do you need to play each day?

10 to 15 minutes is plenty: production keeps running offline, build queues advance on their own, and PvE camps guarantee steady progress. Dedicated players spend hours in the game, but you never have to.

Is the game truly free of pay-to-win?

Yes. The shop only sells convenience (extra queues, time boosts, cosmetics) — never troops, game-changing resources or combat power. A free player can aim for the top spot on the leaderboard.

What's the best way to start out in Embercraft?

Follow the built-in First Steps: produce resources, build the barracks, recruit troops and win your first incursion. You're protected from attacks during your first few days — use that time to grow your economy and join an active guild.
